Why Digital Photography
So why go to digital photography? I bought my first SLR camera nearly 40 years ago. It still works fine, I just don't use it much any more. It is very easy to operate, very flexible and dependable. I have used it in all sort of condition with great satisfaction.
I have five digital cameras, not counting the cell phones. They include digicams, dslrs and digital video cams. I'm not a photographer by trade, just a guy that like to take pictures. I am a technologist and as such I'm as interested in the technology of photography as I am in the art form.
I always try to take the perfect picture or push the envelope on what the content or technology of the photograph will allow. I'm interested in learning more about the what my camera can do and how I can make a better picture.
There are many, many excellent websites dedicated to photography and digital photography. Most that I have found are buying guides, galleries or technical discussions aimed at those who study and speak "photographer". I hope to avoid that throughout most of this site, or at least limited it to a few sections for those who want to know more.
Instead this site is for those who have or are considering a purchase of a digital camera and want know more about what the camera can do and how best to use it. I love research and I love photography. I'm starting this site at the beginning of 2009 as a means of practicing both. I'll add content as quickly as I can.
To me this is great fun and I hope you enjoy the site.
